Frazer Tickford Metro!

Some of you may know that we have a soft spot for a Metro here at BCC 😅 well we are absolutely delighted to be able to offer this incredibly rare Tickford variant.

The Frazer-Tickford Metro was a product of an in-house project by Aston Martin, built by Tickford during its stint under David Brown's Aston. Using an Austin Metro as the base.

The British luxury brand breathed upon a number of modifications including an uprated engine performance-tuned by Aston Martin with a Weber twin-choke carburettor, a hotter camshaft and bigger valves with a gas-flowed cylinder head, producing 80bhp. In addition, the Tickford Metro would see uprated suspension, wider wheels, a full leather interior with widened seats, electric windows, a full body kit and more.

Suspected to be the only Tickford Metro to be delivered new to the Channel Islands, ‘YLB 632X’, or Number 16, was manufactured in 1981 and registered in 1983 and cost £12000 at the time.

In last owner has had it for the last 11 years and known to them for 21 years prior, this Tickford Metro is presented in an attractive graduated Silver Leaf to Grey paint scheme with complementing Grey leather interior with Red piping, and is showing just 27,743 miles!

Additional specification includes tweed headlining; Wilton carpets; extensive sound-deadening throughout the interior; rare Uher stack stereo and graphic equalizer which sounds fantastic, a full bodykit, four Marchal fog lights, enamel Frazer and Tickford/Aston Martin name badges, tinted glass, sunroof, 5 1/2J alloy wheels and electric windows.

Recently subject to works including replacement alternator, starter motor, distributor, water pump, plugs and leads, re-cored radiator and new tyres. It drives exceptionally well and is a lot of fun. We’ve also just had the vehicles paintwork detailed and as you can see by the photos it looks stunning with only a few age related blemishes to note.

The car comes with an impressive history file containing nearly every MOT since 1988, a large collection of invoices.

Only 26 of these special vehicles were manufactured, with just 13 understood to have survived by the Tickford Club.

A unique and rare opportunity to be able to acquire a truly fantastic little car!
